Oko Āio is a wharerongoā business newly established to enable local Māori and Pasifika providers to connect, support, learn and grow from each other so we can whakamana hauora (giving choice and control) for our Māori tāngata and Pacific peoples.

Oko Āio, the vessel of tranquillity. Oko refers to the Oko-nui Ātea, the great bowl of the Universe. Āio is the state of complete connection to the Universe.

As a consortium Oko Āio delivery Partners are able to tender for National Contracts where they don’t individually meet the requirements.

Oko Āio exists to facilitate a strategic alliance that provides shared learnings, and provide support to help each individual provider grow.

A collective voice has more power, yet we recognise the differing ways of working and knowledge utilised from iwi to hapū and rohe across the motu are where the true powerful outcomes lie.   Our collective voice is much like tikanga, though the underlying principles are common throughout Aotearoa, there are variations from iwi to hapū to marae and even to whānau.
